By requesting a quote, accepting a quote, making a booking, paying a deposit, placing an order, leaving a vehicle with us, authorising work or purchasing products from us, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
These Terms & Conditions apply to all work carried out, products supplied, online purchases, workshop bookings, diagnostics, installation work and customer communication with Audio Division / Ilkley Car Audio Ltd.
Audio Division is the new trading identity of Ilkley Car Audio Ltd.
The business has not changed ownership.
All contracts, invoices, payments, warranty responsibilities and legal obligations remain with Ilkley Car Audio Ltd, trading as Audio Division.
All quotes are based on the information available at the time the quote is prepared.
Quotes may be affected by:
Vehicle make, model and year
Vehicle specification
Factory audio or security system
Factory amplifier option
Previous modifications
Previous wiring work
Vehicle condition
Trim condition
Battery condition
Hidden faults
Coding requirements
Software compatibility
Product availability
Supplier pricing
Shipping costs
VAT or tax changes
Additional labour required once work begins
Unless stated otherwise, quotes are valid for 14 days.
A quote is not a confirmed booking until a deposit, full payment or written confirmation has been accepted by Audio Division / Ilkley Car Audio Ltd.
We reserve the right to withdraw or amend a quote where the vehicle, specification, parts availability or job requirements differ from the information originally supplied.
Most workshop bookings require a deposit before the booking is confirmed.
Deposits may be used to:
Secure workshop time
Order parts
Reserve products
Allocate labour
Prepare vehicle-specific fitting solutions
Begin design or fabrication work
Cover administration and planning time
Once parts have been ordered, workshop time has been allocated, or preparation work has started, deposits may be non-refundable.
If you need to move or cancel a booking, you must give as much notice as possible.
Short-notice cancellations, missed appointments or failure to attend may result in the deposit being retained.
If a customer repeatedly cancels, rearranges or fails to attend appointments, we reserve the right to refuse future bookings.
With effect from April 2026, Audio Division / Ilkley Car Audio Ltd does not fit customer-supplied parts under any circumstances.
There are no exceptions to this policy.
We only install products, parts, accessories, wiring, interfaces, speakers, amplifiers, subwoofers, cameras, dash cameras, trackers, immobilisers, alarms, radios, head units, security products, installation materials and vehicle-specific components that have been supplied directly by Audio Division / Ilkley Car Audio Ltd.
This policy applies to all work and all customers.
Customer-supplied parts include, but are not limited to:
Parts purchased online
Parts purchased from marketplaces
Parts purchased from eBay, Amazon or similar platforms
Parts purchased from another retailer
Parts supplied by another garage
Parts supplied by another installer
Parts supplied by the vehicle owner
Second-hand parts
Used parts
Previously fitted parts
Imported products
Unbranded products
Modified products
Products removed from another vehicle
Products bought as gifts
Products supplied with fitting instructions
Products claimed to be genuine
Products claimed to be compatible
Products supplied with a receipt from elsewhere
Products supplied by the customer for us to test, fit, connect or repair
The reason for this policy is simple: we cannot take responsibility for products we have not supplied.
Customer-supplied parts create risks with warranty, product traceability, compatibility, safety, quality control and payment protection.
In recent years, the business has experienced repeated issues involving customer-supplied parts, third-party products, chargebacks, payment disputes, warranty disputes and product faults outside our control.
We cannot verify whether a customer-supplied product is:
Genuine
Safe
New
Unused
Complete
Fault-free
Correctly labelled
Correctly manufactured
Suitable for the vehicle
Compatible with the vehicle
UKCA or CE compliant where required
Free from damage
Free from previous modification
Free from counterfeit components
Supplied through an approved route
Covered by a valid UK warranty
Suitable for professional installation
Modern vehicles use sensitive electronic systems, CAN Bus networks, factory modules, coding, battery management systems, airbags, driver assistance systems and safety-related wiring.
Fitting unknown or unverified products can create risks to the vehicle, the customer, the installer and the business.
For this reason, Audio Division / Ilkley Car Audio Ltd only fits products supplied directly by us through our own approved suppliers.
If a customer arrives for a booking with customer-supplied parts, those parts will not be fitted.
If a booking has been made on the basis that we will fit customer-supplied parts, the booking will be refused, cancelled or rearranged using products supplied directly by Audio Division / Ilkley Car Audio Ltd.
Any deposit, booking fee, diagnostic charge, ordered parts, design time, allocated workshop time or labour already carried out may still be chargeable.
This policy is final.
Where Audio Division / Ilkley Car Audio Ltd supplies products for installation, we are responsible for sourcing those products through our chosen suppliers.
This allows us to control:
Product quality
Compatibility
Supplier traceability
Warranty support
Product authenticity
Safety standards
Installation suitability
Aftercare support
We reserve the right to choose which brands, products and suppliers we use.
We are not obliged to match online pricing, marketplace pricing or prices from unapproved sellers.
Some products may cost more when supplied by us because they are sourced through proper trade, distributor or approved supplier routes and include professional installation support, warranty handling and business overheads.
Some parts are special order, vehicle-specific, made to order or ordered specifically for your installation.
Once ordered, these products may not be returnable.
This can include:
Vehicle-specific interfaces
Wiring harnesses
Speaker adaptors
Dash kits
Radio fitting kits
Amplifiers
Speakers
Subwoofers
Security products
Trackers
Immobilisers
Dash cameras
Parking sensors
Camera systems
3D printed parts
Custom mounts
Custom brackets
Bespoke enclosures
Trim panels
Fabrication materials
If a customer cancels after parts have been ordered, the cost of those parts may be deducted from any refund due.
Diagnostic work is charged for the time spent investigating a fault or issue.
A diagnostic booking does not guarantee that the fault will be found within the first hour or within any estimated time period.
Some faults are intermittent, hidden or caused by issues outside our control.
This can include:
Previous poor workmanship
Damaged wiring
Water ingress
Low battery voltage
Faulty modules
Factory system faults
Software issues
Coding problems
Blown speakers
Short circuits
Aftermarket parts fitted elsewhere
Incorrect previous installation work
Vehicle communication faults
Diagnostic labour remains payable whether the fault is repaired or not.
If further work is required, we will advise where possible before continuing.
All installation work is carried out with care and to a professional standard.
Vehicles can vary significantly in design, condition, previous work, trim access and factory equipment.
Installation times are estimates only.
Work may take longer than expected due to:
Vehicle access
Trim removal
Hidden fixings
Broken clips
Previous modifications
Damaged wiring
Factory wiring differences
Coding requirements
Software updates
Parts compatibility
Battery issues
Security system complications
Water ingress
Poor previous installations
Where additional work is required, we will advise the customer as soon as reasonably possible.
Additional labour may be chargeable.
Customers must tell us about any known faults before work starts.
This includes:
Warning lights
Electrical faults
Battery issues
Charging faults
Water leaks
Previous crash damage
Previous repairs
Previous installations
Non-working equipment
Immobiliser problems
Alarm faults
Tracking system issues
Audio faults
Coding issues
Damaged trim
Loose panels
Missing clips
Modified wiring
We are not responsible for faults, damage or issues that were already present before the vehicle arrived.
We may take photos or videos of the vehicle before, during and after work for records, warranty, training or marketing purposes.
Please remove personal belongings, tools, valuables, child seats, luggage and loose items before leaving the vehicle with us.
We are not responsible for personal items left inside the vehicle.
We take care when removing and refitting vehicle trim.
However, some trim clips, fixings, panels and plastic parts can become brittle with age, heat, previous removal or previous poor workmanship.
We are not responsible for damage caused by:
Brittle trim
Aged clips
Previously broken clips
Previously removed trim
Hidden damage
Poor previous installations
Glue, sealant or tape used by others
Non-standard fixings
Water damaged trim
Modified panels
Where replacement clips or trim parts are required, these may be chargeable.
Modern vehicles rely heavily on stable battery voltage.
Some installations, diagnostics and coding work may require battery support, charging or testing.
If a vehicle has a weak battery, faulty battery, charging fault or existing electrical issue, this may affect the work being carried out.
We are not responsible for issues caused by:
Weak batteries
Flat batteries
Faulty alternators
Battery management faults
Starter faults
Charging faults
Low voltage faults
Existing electrical problems
Vehicle module failure
Water ingress
Previous wiring work
If battery support, charging, replacement or additional testing is required, this may be chargeable.
Some work may involve coding, programming, configuration or integration with factory vehicle systems.
Results can depend on:
Vehicle model
Vehicle year
Module version
Software version
Factory equipment
Previous coding
Previous retrofits
Aftermarket equipment
Vehicle specification
Manufacturer updates
We will carry out coding and integration work carefully, but we cannot guarantee compatibility where vehicle systems, software or previous modifications prevent normal operation.
We are not responsible for issues caused by previous coding, non-standard software, undeclared modifications or incompatible equipment.
Audio upgrades are designed around the agreed products, vehicle and installation package.
Sound quality can be affected by:
Vehicle acoustics
Speaker locations
Factory limitations
Source quality
Streaming quality
Customer settings
Factory equalisation
Road noise
Tyre noise
Cabin layout
Listening preferences
Budget
System design
DSP tuning and system setup are carried out to suit the vehicle and agreed equipment.
Further tuning changes after handover may be chargeable.
We are not responsible for damage caused by misuse, excessive volume, distorted signals, incorrect customer settings or later adjustment by another person.
Sound deadening packages are designed to reduce panel vibration, resonance, rattles and unwanted noise.
Results vary depending on the vehicle, materials used, level of strip, tyre noise, road surface, vehicle design and customer expectations.
Sound deadening can improve refinement and audio performance, but it will not make a vehicle completely silent.
The level of improvement depends on the package selected and the areas treated.
Dash cameras, trackers, immobilisers, alarms and security products are designed to assist with vehicle protection, monitoring, evidence gathering or theft prevention.
No security product can guarantee that a vehicle will not be stolen, damaged, broken into, targeted or involved in an incident.
The customer is responsible for:
Maintaining subscriptions
Maintaining app access
Maintaining login details
Keeping contact details up to date
Responding to monitoring centre communication
Keeping vehicle batteries healthy
Checking insurance requirements
Understanding product operation
Following handover instructions
For insurance-approved trackers and security products, the customer is responsible for checking with their insurer that the product meets their requirements.
Radio upgrades, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and infotainment integration depend on vehicle compatibility and factory system specification.
Some features may vary depending on the vehicle, radio model, software version, phone model, phone software and factory equipment.
Factory features such as steering wheel controls, parking sensors, reversing cameras, vehicle settings, climate displays or amplifier integration may require additional interfaces.
Some vehicles may not support every factory feature after an upgrade.
We will advise where possible before work begins.
Bespoke parts, custom mounts, brackets, subwoofer enclosures, amplifier panels, trim pieces and 3D printed parts are made for specific applications.
These items are normally non-refundable once design, printing, fabrication, cutting, trimming, preparation or installation work has started.
Small differences in texture, finish, colour, layer lines or appearance may occur with bespoke and 3D printed parts.
3D printed parts are designed only for their intended use.
They should not be modified, overheated, overloaded, drilled, cut, painted, chemically treated or used for any purpose outside the intended application unless agreed in writing.
Products purchased through our online shop are supplied according to the product description at the time of purchase.
Customers are responsible for checking compatibility before ordering.
Where products are vehicle-specific, electrical, made to order, 3D printed, personalised, opened, fitted, modified or customised, returns may be limited.
Products must be returned unused, unfitted, complete and in original packaging where a return is accepted.
This does not affect your statutory rights.
Cancellation and return rights depend on whether the order relates to goods, services, online purchases, custom products, special-order parts or workshop labour.
Where a service has been booked and we have already ordered parts, allocated workshop time, started preparation work or begun the installation with your agreement, deductions may be made for costs already incurred.
Where work has already started, labour already carried out remains chargeable.
Made-to-order, personalised, custom, bespoke or vehicle-specific products may not be returnable unless faulty.
Electrical products may not be accepted for return once fitted, used, opened or connected unless faulty.
This does not affect your statutory rights.
Payment is due on completion unless agreed otherwise in writing.
Vehicles will not be released until the balance has been paid in full and cleared.
Ownership of supplied goods remains with Ilkley Car Audio Ltd trading as Audio Division until payment has been made in full.
If payment is reversed, disputed, charged back or not received, we reserve the right to recover the outstanding balance, associated fees and reasonable recovery costs.
We reserve the right to refuse further work, warranty support or future bookings where payment remains outstanding or where a customer has previously raised an unreasonable or unsuccessful payment dispute.
If a customer raises a chargeback, payment dispute or payment reversal after work has been completed or products have been supplied, we reserve the right to provide evidence to the payment provider, bank or card issuer.
Evidence may include:
Quotes
Invoices
Booking confirmations
Messages
Emails
Photos
Videos
Vehicle records
Signed documents
Proof of product supply
Proof of installation
Collection records
Call notes
Workshop records
Where a chargeback or payment dispute is unsuccessful, we reserve the right to recover any associated fees, administration time, debt recovery costs and legal costs where applicable.
Vehicles must be collected promptly once work is complete.
If a vehicle is not collected within the agreed time, storage charges may apply.
Unless agreed otherwise, storage may be charged at £25 per day.
Vehicles left for long periods without contact may be treated as abandoned, and further recovery action may be taken.
We are not responsible for loss of use, travel costs, hire vehicle costs or other losses caused by delayed collection.
Vehicles left with us may be stored inside or outside depending on space, workshop requirements and insurance limitations.
Vehicles left outside are left at the owner’s risk.
Please do not leave valuables in the vehicle.
Keys may be stored securely off-site outside working hours.
We are not responsible for loss, theft or damage to personal items left inside the vehicle.

Where we supply and install a product, the product will normally be covered by the manufacturer’s warranty.
Labour warranty applies only to the work carried out by Audio Division / Ilkley Car Audio Ltd.
Warranty only applies where the product has been supplied and installed by us.
Warranty does not apply to customer-supplied parts because we do not fit customer-supplied parts.

This only applies where the product has been supplied and installed by Audio Division / Ilkley Car Audio Ltd and the installation meets the required conditions.
Warranty does not apply to products purchased elsewhere or fitted by another installer.
Courtesy cars are not guaranteed and are only available where agreed in advance.
If a courtesy vehicle is provided, the customer is responsible for using it legally, safely and with care.
Any fines, fuel, insurance excess, damage, parking charges, congestion charges, tolls or penalties remain the responsibility of the customer.
